How to get Shopify order notifications in Telegram
You can have a message arrive in Telegram within a second of someone buying from your store - on your phone, your laptop, or in a group chat your staff can see. This page covers how to set that up, and how it stacks up against the other ways of getting notified.
Why Telegram instead of email or the Shopify app?
Most shops start with one of these, and each has a downside:

That last point is why a lot of small shops end up on Telegram. The alert shows up in an app people already have open, and adding a colleague costs nothing.
The quick way: a free app

Step by step
1. Install the app
Install Dingio on your store from the Shopify App Store. It opens on a setup guide. There's no account to create and no card to enter.
2. Create your Telegram bot
The alerts are sent by a Telegram bot that belongs to you. In Telegram, open @BotFather, send /newbot, then pick any name and a username ending in bot. BotFather sends back a token that looks like 1234567890:AA…. Paste it into the app.
Why your own bot? The token is yours, and nothing goes through a bot shared with other shops.
3. Connect the chat
Open a chat with your new bot, press Start, send it any message, then click "Detect my chat" in the app. For a team, make a group instead, add your bot to it, send a message in the group, and detect from there. Everyone in that group then sees the orders.
4. Pick your alerts and test
Switch on the alerts you want, set a low-stock level if you sell physical products, and press "Send test message". The app tells you whether it was delivered, and keeps a list of recent alerts with their status.
What the alerts look like
A new-order message has the order number, the total, how many items, and your store name. Customer names, emails and addresses are not included and not stored, so sharing the alerts with staff doesn't mean sharing customer data.
Common questions
Does it cost anything?
No. The app is free on the Shopify App Store, and Telegram is free.
Can more than one person get the alerts?
Yes, send them to a Telegram group. Everyone in the group gets every alert, and none of them need a Shopify staff account.
How fast do they arrive?
Usually a second or two after the order is placed, since Shopify tells the app as soon as checkout finishes.
What if an alert doesn't arrive?
The app shows the delivery status of everything it sends and explains failures in plain language, such as an invalid token or a blocked bot. The help and setup page goes through each case.
Does it work outside the Shopify mobile app?
Yes. Alerts arrive in Telegram anywhere you're logged in: phone, desktop, tablet or web.
